Dear (Mr.) Arad,

I have noticed that recently you have decided on a new rule that says(ww.) that each student that will disrupt the lesson should be automatically expelled from school after the second warning. I think the rule is right and fair.

The rule will give a chance to students to correct their behavior, a chance not to be expelled from school after one mistake they make in class. The rule will make students think twice about their actions, it will make them more concentrate(gr.) in class and will make them want to control their desires and their actions. It will also give more power to the teachers in class. They could maintain a good lesson by expelling the students who disrupt. It will make the students respect their teachers.

Moreover, the new rule will create a nice and relax(gr.) environment for the students who want to study and can't study because of the students who disrupt the class. I (a word is missing here) you should think to an assignment to that rule(phr.- not clear). I think that each student that disrupt(gr.) the class should be expelled and also do an assignment over the material he lost in the class because of his behavior.

To sum up, I think that you are doing a good job for creating(gr.+ww.) a nice environment for the students in class. You are doing a god job with teaching and correcting wrong behavior and to bequeath(ww.) rules and boundaries at(ww.) bad students.

Sincerely yours,

Tom Poter Jones.
Nice, but needs work.

Talent or Hard Work?

Talent Or Hard Work ?

Recently I was asked  "what does success in life depend on more – talent or hard work?". It's hard for me to say what has more impact on life but I think the key to success in life is a combination between talent and hard work.

I think talent is rear, talent is like a gift that people get when they are born. Talent is very important in life but talent will be used when a person finds his domain. Each person uses his talent when he finds the right job or the right domain he likes(phr.)Finding the right job for the person's individual talent could make his life easier and (more) successful. The combination of specific talent and the right job can make life successful.

On the other hand, I think talent isn’t the only factor for achieving a successful life. I think hard work and determination are very important for achieving a successful life. A person who has the will and the motivation to work hard will achieve successThere are times when hard work doesn’t bring the results we want because we don’t have the right talent or the specific ability to achieve the goal we want to achieve. For example, I think that in sports like basketball, a person might need talent to achieve success. Hard work isn't enough, a person need to born(gr.- needs to be born) with talent for basketball, this domian is very hard and it has alot of limits that hard work can't pass through.(phr.) - not a very good example for your point here, since basketball also requires a lot of practice and hard work.

To sum up neither talent nor hard work is(gr.-are) enough to achieve a successful life.
A successful life depends on the combination of the two. Talent will help us find our way but hard work could make it easier and (us) successful.

You were supposed to choose a side in this issue, and you haven't.

Reflection – All My Sons – Page 118

Reflection – All My Sons – Page 118
1. I enjoyed reading the play, it was very special. It is the first time I read a play and I loved it.It was very interesting to see how a play is made, the dialogue was very nice, for the entire play I read the dialogue and I imagined the voices of the characters so it was very nice to read the play.
2. I didn’t find a specific character that interested me the most, I loved all the characters they all made the play perfect, each character contribute to the play. The most interesting thing I found in the play is the road each character did, their change in the mood, their discovering and their behavior oppose to the events in the play.
3. The thinking skill of comparing and contrasting helped me to understand the change of Keller attitude towards Larry, towards his own crime and his attitude for the family loyalty. Inferring helped me understand the truth about Joe, it helped me understand that he made a crime and that he is guilty. For example inferring helped me understand what Kate said by mistake, the moment when she raveled the lie of Joe to George.  Uncovering motives helped me to understand each character action. For example the actions Kate did and the things she said so Ann will leave their family. She packed her stuff and said to her that she needs to leave their family. Each thinking skill helped me to understand better the story, to understand better the characters and their actions.

Post reading – All My Sons – Page 116, Ex. 1

Dear dairy,

Today we are going to my dad's funeral. I still can't believe he killed himself, I didn't foresee it.
my soul is broken, it is all mixed  up, all the emotions. Anger, sadness, guilt, shame, relief, a feeling of justice that is done, a closure. I'm confused and afraid of what will come next, I don’t know how to continue my life. I loved him but he disappointed me, I feel no hate for him, he will always be my father, I'll remember what he did but I will not forgive him.

My mother told me that I must forget and that I must continue with my life. She's not better than him, she knew about the crime my father committed but she decided to keep it a secret. As I'm mad at my father I'm also mad at my mother. They thought they were protecting me from the truth, (but) they hurt me, my heart is broken, and all I knew was a lie. I discovered that my brother killed himself because of our father's crime. I loved my brother, I miss him very much.

After the funeral today I'm going away, I'm leaving the house, my neighbors, this neighborhood and my love, Ann. Ann has no place with me, she needs to forget me. I can't live with her, I won't bare to look at her eyes after what we (had) discovered. I'm going far away so I can start a new life. I'm not looking back, I want a new start.

For all the people I'm leaving behind, I hope they will be able to continue with their lives, I hope they will find happiness, I hope they won't forget and that they will learn the lesson and make their lives much better. I hope that each one of them will find his way back to his normal life, I want them to remember and to continue their lives. I would like each and every one of them to be a better person, then I'll  know they learned their lesson.

Excellent!

Bridging – All My Sons

Arthur Miller's life was very comfortable. His father owned a garment factory. A turning point in his life had occurred, his family lost everything in the Wall Street Crash of 1929 and Miller's life changed dramatically. He went from living a wealthy lifestyle to delivering bread every morning before school to help the family make ends meet. From the information I'm given about Arthur Miller's life, I can understand the main points and the central theme in his creation "All My Sons", and why he chooses to present those main ideas and central theme of the play.

After reading the play "All My Sons" and the information about Arthur Miller I can understand that the issues in the play concentrate on pressure from the family and from the society. I can understand that the main theme he is talking about in his play is the importance of personal and social responsibility and the danger of moral corruption caused by materialism and greed. In the play the importance of personal and social responsibility and the danger of moral corruption caused by materialism and greed are represented by the
characters Joe Keller and his son Chris. Joe owned a factory, in times of war he shipped a supply of machine parts to the army. In the play Joe did a terrible thing, he let his factory ship cracked cylinder heads to the army and those cracked cylinder heads caused 21 men to die in the war, their planes crashed.
When that was discovered by his son Chris, who didn't share his father's thoughts,  Joe started to make excuses about the motives for his action. Keller believes that he is only answerable to his family and that his war crimes should be excused because he did it to save his family from ruin. Joe was afraid to lose his contract with the army so he decided to ship those cracked cylinder heads rather than to lose his contract. Chris, on the other hand, believes in social responsibility, that we must care about our society and that we are responsible for the well being of all members of the society. The materialism corrupted Joe's mind and caused him to commit a crime, it made him indifferent and made him hurt the people
he cares about, his family.

The issue of pressure from the family is presented by the character Kate Keller. Kate Keller is the mother of Chris and the wife of Joe Keller. I think that her role in the entire play is to pressure Chris and his decisions. All through the play she tried to pressure Chris not to marry Ann. Ann was the girlfriend of Chris's brother Larry. Larry was reported missing in war and his girlfriend Ann wanted to continue with her life. Ann and Chris wanted to marry but Kate didn’t
want them to marry and believed that they should wait for Larry to come back. In the play she makes excuses and says things to Ann and to Chris so they didn’t marry, she is pressuring them and she decides what will happen.

Arthur Miller made a wonderful creation, he managed to bring his own life perspectives and events into the play. His ideas and thoughts are represented in the play through the characters. I enjoyed reading the play, I could really connect with the events and the characters in the play.

Dear  Mr. Nike,

I write this letter to complain about the latest raise of the prices of the music instruments and the music CD's in your store. All the prices were suddenly raised by more than 30 % presents, I think that the prices are too high. I am a regular costumer, I love to buy CD's  in your store and I bought my first musical instrument
in your store.

I hope it is a mistake and that the prices will be as the way they were before. I bought some CD's of my favorite band and then I realized that it cost me twice than the usual price. I really love your store, it has a big variety of music and a big variety of musical instruments.

I always love to come to your store and to try the musical instruments and listen to music so I can decide what to buy, but because of the raise of the prices I need to find another store for music. I really don’t want to look for another store, so I am writing this letter to suggest you lower the prices by 15 % from the current price.

If however you don’t want to lower the prices, at least offer some deals.
You could sell two items in a higher price, you could sell musical instruments with music sheets with the 30% higher price. You could sell music albums at a higher price but give the second album for free.

I don't want a refund but I hope you'll take my letter seriously and that you'll make me want to continue buying in your store.

Yours truly,

Tom Potter Jones.

Much better. Well done!
